​To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 13 mission which launched on 11th April 1970, we've put together 2 new videos featuring the launch sequence from the 1995 movie.
For the first time, we've synchronised the final Sibelius file to the original picture.
Using the surround mix from the DVD, as much of the original music has been dialled out as possible to show how well a good Sibelius/Noteperformer file can sound "in situ".
Special thanks to Cody McVey for his help with producing the beat map for this mammoth cue.

We're still under lockdown conditions, but that doesn't mean we're resting on our laurels here at CSMP with two new major licensed suites in development.  Anyone who has visited our Facebook page recently has no doubt spotted the first of these.  We're pleased to announce that a new suite from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe will soon be available to purchase, featuring six cues from Harry Gregson-Williams's beautiful and energetic score.  This arrangement is as close to the original recording score as possible, featuring full film orchestra and choir.

If you'd be interested in purchasing a score and parts set for your orchestra, we will be putting up a pre-order page very soon.

We'll tell you about the second suite very soon.  It's still not a Bond score (we just like teasing it in the blog post titles!) but seeing as "No Time To Die" was due for release tomorrow (now postponed), here's a little something from John Barry's "You Only Live Twice" to mark the occasion.

Well, what a different world we're living in compared to last month!  Here in the UK we're on lockdown to help curtail the spread of COVID-19, so we hope that this post finds you safe and well.
In a week that was due to see the cinema release of Disney's live action Mulan (now delayed), lets look back to the animated original, and the Overture from Jerry Goldsmith's fabulous score.

A quick post to wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day.  As a token of our love we’ve uploaded a new video to the YouTube channel featuring a cue from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (1991); whose love song “Everything I Do (I Do It For You)” remained at the Number 1 spot in the UK charts for 16 consecutive weeks.  This one is dedicated to “Mrs Siddall”, without whose support none of this would be possible.

2019 came and went without any blog/news updates so it's high time that was remedied!  With the Facebook store now not accepting the promotion of digital products you will see a lot more activity here (then subsequently posted on Facebook and Twitter of course)!

The tail end of 2019 saw some much needed changes to this site, including properly integrated downloads from the store, calculated shipping for physical products and a general sprucing up here and there.  Expect to see even more changes during the course of 2020.

Of course, the most important thing here is the music, and to kick off 2020, we've uploaded 4 new products to the storefront including Bernard Herrmann's Narrative Suite from Psycho, "Dawn" (Main Title) from Pride & Prejudice and two piano arrangements; David Newman's haunting song "Once Upon a December" from Anastasia, and James Horner's Love Theme from the 1983 fantasy adventure film "Krull".

Current projects under way include some new additions to our Suggested Bowing sets including Mahler Symphony No.1, Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante for Four Winds, and the Overture from The Magic Flute.

We are also very excited to announce that our first "Complete Score" project is in development, bringing one of James Horner's pivotal scores to publication for the first time ever!  We will be bringing you a lot more news about this exciting product soon.

It's the Holiday season again, and we're kicking it off with a "flurry" (see what we did there?!?) of new music!
From today, the "Hogwarts March" from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will be available for download from SheetMusicPlus.
Later this week we will be releasing new music for Piano, including a beautiful arrangement of "Once Upon a December" from Anastasia, and giving our string fans some love with the "Passacaglia" from Battlestar Galactica.
We also have some new additions to the Bernard Herrmann Collection coming soon; including a piece for Theramin which is out of this world!!!

No it's not a Bond licence unfortunately (not yet anyway!), but it is good news.
Both the required licences to print and sell the Overture from Lawrence of Arabia have been secured, and so will be available to buy from today.
We have a number of other cues and arrangements in the works, kicking off with some seasonal music which should be available for digital download next week.  Watch this space!

With the completion and publication of the Prelude from Psycho, attentions have turned to completing the licensing deal for the Overture from Lawrence of Arabia.  A slight "curve ball" was uncovered last week when it was discovered that Shapiro-Bernstein (the copyright holders) have instructed Faber in the UK to administer licensing applications, but only (as discovered last week) for "Worldwide distribution excluding US & Canada".  "US & Canada only" rights are administered by Hal Leonard.  So....two seperate licenses required for "true" worldwide distribution rights.  Fun fun!

In other news; the Prelude from Psycho served as a great starting point and inspiration to expand it into the "Suite from Psycho", a piece which contains the aforementioned Prelude, plus a number of other cues including the iconic "The Murder" cue from that shower scene.  The first draft of that engraving should be completed sometime next week, with a proof-read and layout of the parts following in the week after.
Thoughts are already turning to "what next" and as usual there are more possibilities and things on our wish list than you can shake a stick (conductor's baton?) at!
With that in mind, we'll be starting a poll next week to gauge interest and let you decide the next piece we add to our repertoire.  We can't wait to see the result!
